The Classic Hotel Harmonie is a real gem in Cologne’s city center and is one of the last privately run hotels in Cologne. The current hotel owner and operator is the second owner since the property was built. Previously, the Gülich family ran the hotel for two generations before putting it up for sale with a heavy heart in 1996. A new era began.
Back then, the hotel consisted of 40 hotel rooms, a hairdressing salon and a coach house – nothing like today.
Over the course of 20 years, the owner gave free rein to his creativity and created an oasis in Cologne’s city center. First, the 40 existing rooms were completely renovated before the number of rooms was expanded in three construction phases to 106 individually designed rooms, an artistically designed underground car park and a conference room.
The ideas for the conversion and design of the hotel are a collection of various short and long-distance trips – always on the lookout for new concepts, furniture or wallpaper.
